From my college days to my professional career I have been a student of finance, economics, and mortgage banking.
In 1982, my career began as Loan Officer with one of the nation's top mortgage banking firms. It was
several years later before I appreciated the industry skills and knowledge Loan Officers were "required"
to learn before consulting their first client.
My career now spans 3 decades and along the way I've enjoyed my service to the housing and finance industries. I've
served with the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association (IMBA) and gratefully accepted the opportunity to co-chair
an IMBA Education Conference. It was a truly eye-opening experience. From that experience I discovered
teaching and training to be nearly as rewarding as helping people buy a home, so I committed myself to making it
a part of my career from then on.
Although I no longer had the time to devote to all the industry's trade organizations, I did continue
to volunteer my services to the Illinois Association of Mortgage Professionals (IAMP). With the association I've
served as a continuing education instructor and a frequent guest speaker at mortgage education conferences.
There are two roles I've found to be the most enjoyable and rewarding: helping people make informed
mortgage decisions and sharing what I've learned with others in my profession. At his stage of my career I am
the President and CEO of CU/America Financial Services, Inc. CU/America is a financial services organization for
more than 40 credit unions in Illinois. I'm an Illinois Licensed Mortgage Originator (No. 031.0008869), and licensed
by Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (#212529). Additional information about the NMLS and the SAFE Act can be found
here .
I'm married to a successful wholesale banking Account Executive with an impressive background in mortgage operations
and compliance. Our careers are a perfect compliment to one another as well as the clients and credit unions we help.
And, I'm proud to say we recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.
